Each year, Sherwin-Williams unveils its vision for the colors that will define the coming seasons—and for 2026, the focus is clear: warmth, simplicity, and connection to nature. Their Color of the Year, Universal Khaki SW 6150, anchors this movement, supported by four stunning new palettes in the Colormix® Forecast: Anthology Volume Two.

The result is a return to the classics—soft neutrals, organic tones, and deeply restorative colors that feel both grounded and refined.

Universal Khaki is a warm, mid-tone tan neutral with a slight yellow undertone. It was chosen to reflect a growing desire for simplicity, timelessness, and connection to nature.
It is described as a versatile and "go-anywhere shade" that works well with both warm and cool tones, making it suitable as a foundational color for the whole house.
The selection was also made in conjunction with HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams, marking the first time the two brands have teamed up for a joint color of the year.
Colormix® Forecast: Anthology Volume Two
The 2026 forecast organizes 48 predicted colors into four distinct palettes, moving from simple, individual colors to more complex, layered schemes.
Foundational Neutrals
This palette expands on classic neutrals with subtle shifts in undertones, offering a modern and dependable backdrop.

Restorative Darks
This collection of deep, rich tones builds on previous forecasts, bringing in rich, robust colors for depth and strength.

Frosted Tints
This palette consists of soft, pastel hues that are a fresh take on mints, lavenders, and blues, moving away from a strictly biophilic context.
